Jennie Runk, H & m first Plus Size Swimsuit Model, will make you love yourself

This season, 24 years old, model Jennie Runk - 5'10 "and a size 12 or 14 - became the first woman of size more to appear in the catalog of H & M swimwear (instead of being relegated to a more distinct size guide). Trunk caught still more attention from America when it was disclosed that she had actually chosen to take weight and be placed in the size category, after hearing that she was on the cusp of the model size height more and regular.

We have been obsessed with hole represented Ford since then. How can you not be after watching these pictures? So we've tracked down Jennie and asked her how she got into the biz, the pressure on models to maintain their normal weight, tips for other models aspiring to so-called 'size' and more.

Cosmo: So what is your childhood like?

I grew up in a very solid, loving family. My best memories include saved us and has fostered dogs. As a result, I spent much of my childhood in a House with anywhere between 4 and 10 dogs at a given time. Once we have established two sisters who had been left in a backyard without food or water for most of their lives, they were terrified of everything and all. The transformation, they did was amazing, and he taught me that with love, care and patience, everything is possible.

Cosmo: When and how did you get into modeling?

I was 13 years old, volunteer in a center of adoption of chat with the open door Animal Sanctuary at the PetSmart in Chesterfield, Missouri. Mary Clarke, a talent scout, based in the Midwest, went into the store to buy dog food and saw me. When my mother first asked me if I wanted to try modeling, I said 'no '. I have him said, I am much more that a face and a body, why would I want model?» I was, at this time, very active in my school's theatre program, and my mother reminded me that modeling could eventually lead to acting opportunities. Reluctantly, I agreed to give it a shot.

Cosmo: I know that you have these days to speak of your choice to take the weight and become a model of size more rather than lose an amount of weight you regarded as unhealthy. You have been encouraged to go in the other direction at all?

When I started to meet other new models, I was a size 8, 10 in progress, and they were of sizes 0 and 2. Initially, it was embarrassing. I was not yet 14 years old, feeling already big for my age and being so radically different from all other models around me wasn't easy. But lose weight to look like them never crossed my mind. I'm just not built that way. Some people are naturally very thin and tall. I'm not one of those people. I feel healthy and happy in my body anywhere between a size 10 and 14. I've been several times in the past ten years each of these sizes and everywhere in between, and I feel less attractive to a size that I do to another. I'm still me, what say the tag on my jeans.

Cosmo: Last year, Israel imposed a mandatory minimum BMI for models (18.5) to decrease the rate of anorexia in the industry. Do you think that the fashion world could benefit from something like that here in the States?

I think that the decrease in rate of eating in the fashion industry disorder would be beneficial. We do not want our young boys and girls striving to be like someone who is struggling to be in good health.

Cosmo: What was the process of dropping the H & M shoot like?

I was happy shooting swimwear. This is one of my favorite things to draw.  I am actually terrified of being in the ocean, so it's a really powerful feeling to be able to put that fear of a shelf and walk in the waves in any case. Struggling against the current, the light of the Sun and my fear of the ocean to get these shots, was a huge accomplishment. I had no idea that they would receive so much publicity. I think my courage really pinned photos, and I like that. It translates a fearlessness to wear a bikini to any size, which is a fearlessness, that I wish that each woman can feel. Honestly, what I looked like a bikini was the last thing on my mind. I was much more focused on not be knocked over by a wave!

Cosmo: Did you get a positive reaction for most who? I think it was really inspirational for young women of size more.

Yes, almost all the answers I receive have been positive and full of gratitude. It seems that people have been waiting someone come out and say, ' I am who I am, and it is perfect for me! I was certainly not always so trust me. I struggled as a teenager, but I learned from my experiences. I've learned that no matter what you do, if you do something good, to people here try to put you down. It is difficult to ignore this kind of negativity in a first time, but practice makes perfect. You should never, never let someone tell you that you are not good enough. You have the choice whether to respond to the expectations of others of you, or to endeavour to satisfy your own. You are more than your tyrants want you to believe that you are. You are the only person who can know what you are able to, so go there and make you proud.

Cosmo: What suggestions do you have for other normal-sized girls who want to break into modeling?

Confidence is the key. Without it, you won't go far. Learn everything you can about yourself, love who you are, and then find a market that suits you. Also, do not let the modeling is the only thing that you know or to care. Everyone likes to have a well balanced and intelligent person on the plateau. Read books, learn to paint, write, make music or dive in science or mathematics. Become an expert on anything else; you never let be "just a model". Always remember, you are more than just a face and a body, he has a personality all hide in there who begs her to leave it. Do not leave it in the dark.
